Hi,

Thank you.
Hi,
Please try this attached fix, thank you.
For catching all Exceptions when reading in template file, it is difficult to determine the size-grading of catch block, if too much meticulous, it will be a burden on performance, if too rough, maybe too many contents will be lost and less message can send to the end user. So, what we can do is try to ignore some invalid values and make the reading process continue when it is reasonable for doing so, such as when encounter invalid formula string, page setup zoom value, and other feedback from our users that they think it is reasonable to do, just as what we doing now for you, thank you.
The fix moved me to the next error... I have no idea how to replicate this on a file as I've done before.. let me know if you are unsure what caused it, and I'll do my best to figure it out:
java.io.IOException: It is not a valid excel2007 file: String index out of range: -1

at com.aspose.cells.Workbook.open(Unknown Source)
at com.aspose.cells.Workbook.a(Unknown Source)
at com.aspose.cells.Workbook.open(Unknown Source)
I've gotten approval from management to post the 2007 file we are trying to open with Aspose Cells. How do I include it so that others don't have access to it?
Thanks,

Hi,
Thank you for the file, please try this fix.
Thank you very much… perfect. We appreciate it.
This fix worked so far. I am not sure why saving a 2003 file as a 2007 files causes this problem.
Thank you for your quick support!

Hi,
Thank you for considering Aspose.
I think your shared file is not properly uploaded. On download, it shows it as HTML file with 0KB size. Please share your file again and we will look into your issue soon.
Thank You & Best Regards,
Hi Rita,
We could not download your attached file, I think you did not attach the valid file. We request you to re-attach it here so that we may check your issue soon.
BTW, which version of Aspose.Cells for Java you are using and did you try new version V2.0.1.
Thank you.
Hi Amjad,
Thanks for the reply. Please try attached file again. Not sure of exact version of Aspose.Cells for java that we are using. But I will try out v2.01.
Thanks,
Rita

Hi Amjad,
Thanks for the reply. Please try attached file again.
We are using Aspose.Cells for java version 1.9.5.1
Thanks,
Rita
Hi Rita,
Thank you for sharing your template file.
I checked your file and its not a native excel file. Its an HTML file and if you open this file in some HTML editor (or may be Notepad), you will see the HTML tags.
Currently, Aspose.Cells does not provide the functionality to open the HTML files. As a workaround, you can open the file in MS Excel and use "Save As" option to save the file in excel file format. After that you may use that newly saved file with Aspose.Cells.
Thank You & Best Regards,
Hi Nausherwan,
Thanks a lot for quick reply and the work around.
But I am wondering if Aspose.Cells provide the functionality to open PDF file and save it as Excel file? (As that would be a preffered work around for us)
Thanks,
Rita
Hi Rita,
Well, Aspose.Cells is a spreadsheet management library so I am afraid we do not support this feature.
Thank you.
Hi Amjad,
Thank you for your reply.
Could you please take a look at the attached *.XLSX file and let me know what file format should i use to open the file using Aspose.Cells library or if that is not a valid file to open using aspose cells.
Thanks again,
Rita
Hi Rita,
Thank you for considering Aspose.
Well, you shared file is not a valid excel file. If you try to open the file using MS Excel, it gives the error message "Excel cannot open the file because the file format or file extension is not valid".
Thank You & Best Regards,
