Hello,
I understand from the documentation and earlier discussion from the forum that we cannot load existing Pdf document(behaving as template) to add sections, dynamically insert DOM objects (like tables, texts etc) to it. Aspose words and Aspose cells provide this feature.
Can we except the same feature for Aspose Pdf in your future releases. Do you have any plans for this? This info helps us on deciding the approach for generating pdf files for our future enhancements.
Thanks,
Mamatha
Hi Mamatha,
Aspose.Pdf.Kit allows you to add certain types of objects into an existing PDF file. For example, you can add text and images, annotations, bookmarks and fields etc. You can also fill existing fields with the data. Could you please elaborate in detail, which particular objects you’re interested to add in an existing PDF file, so we could guide you accordingly?
We’re looking forward to help you out.

Hello Shahzad,
Thanks for the reply. As I was on vacation I could not reply back to you.
I have an exiting pdf file which has customers table with dummy data in a single row and various columns.
Now I want to delete existing dummy data and dynamically insert rows(= total no.of customers ) to the table and each customer info in the corresponding columns. The styles of the table, rows and columns should remain the same.
Could you please let me know how can we achieve this.
Thanks,
Kavitha
Hi Kavitha,
I’m sorry to share with you that this feature is currently not supported. However, if you could share the sample input PDF file along with some more details, we would be able to investigate and provide support, for such a feature, in our future versions. Please also share whether the rows have already been defined and you just need to add data into the rows, or you need to create the rows dynamically as well? Where are you trying to fetch the data from – database or XML?
Please elaborate your requirement with the help of some sample, so we could help you accordingly.

Hello Shahzad,
Thank you for your support.
I have attached the sample pdf.
As you can clearly see here we have 5 tables. Each one serves different purpose. For the first two tables, we need not dynamically insert rows. Simply load the table and remove dummy data with actual data from data base. Third table is bit complex. There is nested table too in this table. Here we need to insert rows dynamically based on no.of customers = no.of rows and display corresponding information of each customer.4th and 5th tables are also similar but there are no nested tables.
Thanks,
Kavitha
Hi Kavitha,
Thank you very much for sharing PDF file with us. I have logged this new feature request as PDFNEWNET-27692 in our issue tracking system. Our team will look into this requirement and you’ll be updated via this forum thread once it is supported. However, I’m afraid, this feature might not be available in short time.
We’re sorry for the inconvenience.
Regards,
The issues you have found earlier (filed as PDFNEWNET-27692) have been fixed in Aspose.Pdf for .NET 8.9.0.
