Aspose.Tasks for .NET for Qt/C++

My company is using the Qt/C++ framework by Digia (http://www.qt.io/) for developing applications. We want to be able to read and write MS Project 2013 files using our own software solutions. We are keen to see the functionality of Aspose and want to know, if we can use an compile Aspose.Tasks with QCreator (Qt IDE). Have other clients done this and/or can you show an example?

Thanks
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for writing to Aspose support team.

We don’t have any such working example of the API with Qt. However, the
use of Aspose.Tasks from C++ depends on your requirements whether you
want to use it with c++/cli or native C++. Attached you can find a
sample project that uses Aspose.Tasks in C++/Cli. Please have a look at
it for your kind reference and let us know your feedback. Moreover, our Aspose.Tasks for Cloud API allows you to work with Microsoft Project documents in the Cloud and you can use it with C++ as well.

PS: Please update the reference to the Aspose.Tasks DLL as per the DLL’s location on your system.

Hi Kashif,

Thank you for the example code. I’m afriad we’re not able to get it to work. In the code you reference to a ‘.lic’ file which is not included in your code - should it be? We’re testing on MS Visual C++ express 2010. Do you have an example for this environment?

What are the .dll dependencies? Must we deploy our software with an Aspose license file or can this be integrated?

Yours Thomas

Hi Thomas,

The .Lic file refers to the License file for the API and is required for correct functionality of the API. You may get a 30-day temporary license free of cost for evaluation of the project. All Aspose APIs are .NET framework oriented and license can be integrated in your application as an embedded resource in your application.

We don’t have a MS Visual C++ sample available with us and we are analyzing your requirements in this regard. We’ll soon update you here via this thread w.r.t our findings.

Hi Kashif,

We’re still interested in your Task API product, however it’s important that we can use it in collaboration with our existing development. Were you able to produce a working example running from Qt/C++? Please let us know.
Thanks Thomas

Hi Thomas,

We have analyzed your requirements and I am afraid to share that I could not find a working example running form Qt/C++. The earlier example provided to you is the only possibility of using Aspose.Tasks API in C. However, I have forwarded your requirements to our development team for their feedback and will write back here soon. Meanwhile, could you please provide us with complete information about your development environment (s) other than Visual C++?
