I’ve seen several threads saying support is in the pipeline. This is now hitting a critical point for us, can you advise when this will be available? thanks
Hi
Thank you for your interest in Aspose.Words for java. DOCX import in java version will be supported somewhere in Q4 2008.
Best regards.
What about import? For us being able to read DOCX is more critical that writing at this point.
Hi
Thanks for your inquiry. Aspose.Words fro java supports saving documents in DOCX format; loading planned for Q4 2008.
Best regards.
I have an old quote from someone at Aspose back in February saying that it is in beta and will be available “within a few months”… how reliable is the Q4 prediction?
A feature like this is pretty critical for us, as I’m sure it is for most customers and potential customers. More and more users are expecting to be able to import DOCX.
Hi
Thank you for interest in Aspose.Words for Java product. We worked on new porting technology within several months. Technically we have already implemented it. But a serious problem arises in the legal part of the project. The key technology provider has shifted some parts of agreement so the new technology will be unacceptable for Aspose and our customers from licensing point of view.
So, we spend several months for nothing.
At the moment we resume our good old porting technology. Currently we work on porting fixes made in .NET mainstream to java version. The next java release is planed on September and it will contain all these fixes. Afterward we will work on porting DOCX import module. This will take few months I think.
Best regards.
Thanks - We eagerly await the new release!
