We have recently installed Aspose.Word succesfully on Dev and TEST SSRS2005 servers. Tonight I have attempted to install on our live SSRS server and it fails with message ’ Could not properly install or configure Aspose.Words for Reporting Services on this machine. Please try installing Aspose.Word for Reporting services manually as described in documentation’.
Prefer not to do manually, an admin accoutn with admin rights on the server is logged on. Please advise what could cause this? If not possible please can you advise the zip file I need to download to get the manual files needed to complete the install. Its late in the UK now so I may not pick up this response until tomorrow morning.
**Additional Info: The original install in our Dev/Test environment done by someone else, I noticed that Aspose.Words did not show in Add/Remove programs. This is a 64 bit server, I installed and uninstalled from a 32bit server. Is an install using the MSI not support on 64bit maybe?

Thanks for your request. There should no be any problem with installing Aspose.Words for Reporting Services on 64 bit OS. But, if you have problems with installing it using MSI installer, you can always install it manually. Please see the following article to learn how to achieve this:

Thanks for your response. We have done some further tests and our reports have the Word ouput functionality so appears to be working. After checking over the live SSRS server it looks like the install has still -
Backed up the rsreportserver.config & rssrvpolicy.config and added the additional lines of code.
Copied the Aspose.Words.ReportingServices.dll to Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin
The ZIP file contains another Aspose.Words.ReportingServices.dll which shows a path in the zip file as Bin\ReportViewer2005\ We don’t have a ReportViewer2005 or ReportViewer folder, please advise what this is for?
Should the CHM help file sit any where on the server?

Thanks for your request. DLL in Bin\ReportViewer2005\ folder is needed to integrate Aspose.Words for Reporting Services with Report Viewer. See the following link for more information:

CHM file is not required. This is just documentation.
