BindXML and 401 Unauthorized

#1

When I call BindXML(), I get an error:

(401) Unauthorized.

Is Aspose.PDF writing to a temp folder that I need to give the ASPNET worker process acces to?

#2

Dear darryla,

Thanks for your consideration.

Yes Aspose.Pdf need to write files to temp folder. You should grant it privilege to access temp folder.

#3

I’m still having a killer time with this. If I do the BindXML in a regular Windows app, it works. If I run it in an ASP app, it fails with this error:

The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

I have no idea what’s wrong. I checked the permissions on my temp folders. They have everyone access turned on. I even ran filemon. I can’t tell what’s wrong.

Help!

#4

Dear darryla,

Thanks for your consideration.

Would you please send me an example which can reproduce this error?

#5

I can’t. It only happens in web apps. Same code, xml and xsl in a
Winforms app work fine. So it’s definately a permissions problem. I
need to know what you guys are accessing.

Dear darryla,

Thanks for your consideration.

Please try to create a file in the temp folder of your web server in your code.

#7

Dear darryla,

Thanks for your consideration.

Please download hot fix in thread New Release 1.5 and Its Hot Fixes.

Dear marit,

Thanks for your consideration.

Writing temp files is avoided in the hot fix. Please make sure you have properly upgraded to the hot fix and your program has proper permission to access the XML,XSL and PDF files.
