Cell.PutValue cannot handle date without year specified

Hi There,

Recently I found a critical issue with Cell.PutValue. The function used to work in 4.5 version, and somehow it is broken. Please use following code to test.

Aspose.Cells.Workbook wb = new Aspose.Cells.Workbook();

wb.Worksheets[0].Cells["A1"].PutValue("March 31, 2008", true);

wb.Worksheets[0].Cells["A2"].PutValue("March 31, 2008");

wb.Worksheets[0].Cells["A3"].PutValue("March 31", true);

wb.Worksheets[0].Cells["A4"].PutValue("March 31");

After save this workbook and open in MS Excel, cell "A3" shows 0. But with version 4.5, it was "March 31".

It is an urgent issue. Please provide a fix ASAP.

Thanks,

William Ren

Hi William,

Hi,

The attached fix solves some of the formatting issues. But it still have issue with following code:

wb.Worksheets[0].Cells["A3"].PutValue("March 31, ", true);

It puts 0 in cell A3 instead of correct string. I think the code should show string if it is not able to convert it to date, even with string without year specificed such as "march 31".

When you provide fix, please attach version for .Net 2.0.

Thanks,
