We are looking for a software in SharePoint 2010 which gives us an option to create word documents with certain sections of it as read only. I cam across this post in your site

But the links provided in the reply are not working. Could you please suggest me if it is possible with your tool. If yes, Could you please suggest me a tutorial which shows the steps in trial version so that we can create a prototype and check.

In that case, you can use Aspose.Words for .Net with SharePoint. Using Aspose.Words for .Net you can protect whole document or a particular section of a document. Please follow the links to learn how to protect documents:

Please note that Aspose.Words for SharePoint and Aspose.Words for .Net are different products. Aspose.Words for SharePoint does not provide an API for changing a document programmatically via document object model.
