I am trying to connect Slides for Java to ColdFusion 11 to have thumbnails of user-defined dimensions generated from both .PPT and .PPTX files, but the createObject call to load the “com.aspose.slides.Presentation” happens, the server just spins and eventually the request times out. Any others experience this and have managed to solve it and successfully integrate CF11 with Slides 15.3?

I have observed the requirement shared by you and it seems that you are probably making mistake in generating the GetThumbnail() method. Please refer to this documentation link for your kind reference. Please also visit this thread link for your kind reference as well. If there is still an issue then share the complete environment, issue and application details along with working sample project that we may use to reproduce the issue on our end.
