Compare boolean mergefield does not work anymore

Hi,

When using a MERGEFIELD with a boolean value in an ‘IF’ statement, it does not compare the true or false value anymore.

In previous versioon 14.11.0, the following works: { IF { MERGEFIELD test } = “true” “Condition true” “Condition false” }
In new version 16.12.0 this always returns false, it cannot compare boolean values anymore, it has to be converted to string: { IF “{ MERGEFIELD test}” = “true” “Condition true” “Condition false” }

But we cannot change all our existing templates. Is their a way to fix this?

I’ve included a test project.

Kind regards,
Ann
