Crash with Office 2003 Professional

Hi,

We are using ASPOSE slides for PPT generation for two of our projects. In one project, the export to PPT works fine on both Office 2003 Standard and professional versions. However, in another project, the export crashes as it crashes with 2003 standard SP2 which is a known issue as per ASPOSE. Only differecne that we know are:

1. In the project that workks fine, we have a template where we add slides, create table at runtime with content. Wheras in teh one that crashes, we have saved template which has all slides previously populated and we enter data into tables and headings only.

2. We are using VS2008 (.Net 3.5) for the one that works and VS 2005(.Net 2.0) for the one that does not.

Can any body tell me what exactly could be causing this? It should NOT be due to either of above but we have no clues what could be causing this.

Dear Pankaj,

Probably, the cause of it is a the corrupt/broken template which you can fix it after opening the template file in MS-PowerPoint 2003 and save it back with Save As… file menu command.

You must also uncheck the Allow fast saves… check from Tools – > Options – > Save tab.

This will prevent the MS-PowerPoint from inserting increment insertion of changes, which sometimes Aspose.Slides is unable to handle and it will always create the full structure whenever you will made any change inside it.
