Difference between a checkbox of type SDT and a normal checkbox

Dear all,

I do appreciate if someone can describe a little bit what is the differences (advantages, disadvantages) of a checkbox of type SDT(Structured document tags) and a checkbox which can be inserted into a document using “builder.insertCheckBox(“checkbox” + i, false, 0);” ?

Thanks for your inquiry. I think, you would have to use the legacy form fields if you want to maintain backward compatibility with MS Word versions older than Word 2007. These old legacy check box form fields work well in open office writer application. However, I was unable to modify state of SDT check box using open office writer. There could be other differences as well. Please go through the following discussion:
