Difference in Aspose.Cells 8.1.0.0 and 8.6.0.0 regarding PDF

Dear Community,

There seems to be an issue in Aspose.Cells 8.6.0.0 regading PDF. When saving an Excel sheet as a PDF file, Aspose.Cells 8.6.0.0 creates wrong line borders in the PDF file. When Aspose.Cells 8.1.0.0 is used instead, all line borders are correct. Attached, you will find two PDFs for comparing, and in addition and the original Excel file.

Is this issue planned to be fixed in any future release?

Thanks for your support!

Hi Hristo,

Thank you for contacting Aspose support, and sharing the samples.

We have checked the files that you have shared and also performed the conversion process on our side to compare the results with 8.1.0. We can notice that the thickness of the borders between rows 7 & 8 and columns D & E is more if we compare it with the PDF file RenderResult_AsposeCells_8.1.0.0.pdf. Could you please confirm that your concerns are the same? If not, could you please check the attached PDF generated with Aspose.Cells for .NET 8.6.0.5 and highlight the problematic areas for further review?

Yes, I can confirm it. This is exactly what I mean.

Hi Hristo,

Please note, increase in the border thickness is expected when you upgrade the API from previous releases to the recent ones. These enhancements were made to increase the fidelity and to bring the rendering results closer to Excel’s results. Please check the attached PDF files generated with Aspose.Cells for .NET 8.6.0.5 & Excel 2013. You will notice there is negligible difference in the two documents when compared for the border thickness. If you compare the ExcelOutput.pdf against the PDF generated with Aspose.Cells for .NET 8.1.0.0, the difference is more visible.

Moreover, if we tend to change the behavior back to the state of v8.1.0.0, that will not be acceptable for most of the Aspose.Cells’ users as they need the results that are closer to Excel’s results.

Thank you for your understanding.
