Directory name is invalid

When I deploy my application to the live server and I try to use the BindXML method, I get a Directory name is invalid error message.

I was using the server.mappath method to return the physical name of the application directory and appending the filename to this string. I am using a local dns name (www.bidcontact.local) to view the page.

When I delete the xml file out of the application directory, I get a file not found error message. When I change the filepath to the network share version (\web\bidcontact\BidTemplate.xml) and view the application in the browser with the computer name (http://web/bidcontact), everything works fine.

Any ideas?
