Do I need to obtain stencils from a 3rd party in order to use diagram for Java?

I just downloaded the GitHub repo and I’m looking at the examples. The add a shape example uses a stencil file “Basic Shapes.vss” to create a shape from a stencil. Are these vss files redistributable? Do I need to acquire a license from MS to use them? If that is the case this software won’t be of much help to me.

I sent this question to sales@aspose.com and they instructed me to post it here, even though it is clearly a sales question.

@eaidan

Thank you for being patient.

We have found out there is no mention of Copyrights or any Copyright warning when you try to download Microsoft Office Visio Stencil files from Microsoft Download Center, neither they come with any End User License Agreement so they are free to use without any legal limitations and you do not need to acquire any license to utilize such stencil files.

We hope this will be helpful. Please feel free to contact us if you need any further assistance.
