Do we need adobe acrobat to edit pdf forms

We have question on Adobe forms created using pdf.kit by using a empty pdf form template. When a form is partially filled using pdf.kit and the user wants to fill remaining pdf form fields, does the user need Adobe Acrobat? Right now the pdf is shown read only when opened with Adobe Reader (free viewer). What piece are we missing here?

Please share a sample PDF file along with the complete code snippet (to create form and fill it) you’re using at your end. We’ll test the issue at our end and you’ll be updated accordingly.

Thanks for the reply. The code and sample file is same as my other post "Exporting PDF Form Data to XML". We are using the sample code provided by the kit itself.
