DOC to SWF performance

after performance test run over Aspose DOC/DOCX conversion to PDF/SWF we have noticed that direct conversion from DOC(x) to SWF has very poor performance. Finally we’ve used DOC(x) to PDf and then PDF to SWF conversion using pdf2swf (for Debian) that is in total about twice faster than direct conversion.

Maybe you will find a way to improove it in a future, so developers wont need to find performance work-arounds

Kind regards,

Hi Lukasz,

Thanks for your inquiry.

Well, the bottom line is that the processing time fully depends on your documents and their complexity. When you convert a Word document to Pdf format, Aspose.Words builds the page layout of the document and has to create APS (Aspose Page Specification) model in memory. This may eat some more time for some documents. We’re always working on improving performance; but, rendering will be always running slower than simple saving to flow formats (Docx, Doc etc). It is expected behaviour.

Secondly, could you please attach your input Word documents (.doc/.rtf files etc) here for testing? I will investigate the issue(s) on my side and provide you more information.

Best regards,
