Document Merging using Aspose

Hi Aspose Support team,

I need your help to find solution for problem below.

I want to merge the entire PDF document in to word document where I have a placeholder (Rich text content control) in word document.

Can I do this using Aspose.Words or Aspose.Pdf ?

If yes can you please provide sample code for this.

Regards,

Dinesh Cherle

This is my projects requirement where I will have main document in Word format and will have multiple supporting documents say - Annexure's in PDF format and I have content control in main word document for each annexure file. When I say merge all those annexures (PDF) should be merged in to main document.

Hi Dinesh,

Thanks for contacting support.

In order to accomplish your requirement, first you need to convert PDF files to DOC format using Aspose.Pdf for .NET so that you can merge it with original / main word file. For further details, please visit Convert PDF file to DOC or DOCX format

Hi Nayyer,

I have tried converting in to docx and then did merging.

This works fine for plain text documents but if PDF has tables it gives problem.

The problem is when PDF is converted in to DOCX the generated document has frames for each paragraph/table/cell value and if you try to move the table in docx only skeleton moves and values inside the table stick to the position and doesn't move with the table , so after merging the generated word document in to main the total formatting gets distracted.

I have used below code to convert PDF to DOCX, Please have a look and let me know if I am missing anything.

Aspose.Pdf.

DocSaveOptions saveOpts = new Aspose.Pdf.DocSaveOptions();

// // Set the recognition mode as Flow

saveOpts.Mode = Aspose.Pdf.

DocSaveOptions.RecognitionMode.Textbox;

saveOpts.Format = Aspose.Pdf.

DocSaveOptions.DocFormat.DocX;

pdfDocument.Save(path, saveOpts);

Aspose.Pdf.

DocSaveOptions saveOpts = new Aspose.Pdf.DocSaveOptions();

// // Set the recognition mode as Flow

saveOpts.Mode = Aspose.Pdf.

DocSaveOptions.RecognitionMode.Textbox;

saveOpts.Format = Aspose.Pdf.

DocSaveOptions.DocFormat.DocX;

pdfDocument.Save(path, saveOpts);
