Edate

Anybode know why the edate() function is not working in my excel file?
When the file is saved with the Excel 97- Excel 2003 & 5.0/95 Workbook.xls
it works fine.
However, when I do a file save as Microsoft Office Excel Workbook.xls it doesn’t work.

The reason I am doing this is because I get an invalid file format error when trying to open the file with Aspose.Excel when the file is not saved as Microsoft Office Excel Workbook.xls …

thanks!

Aspose.Excel doesn’t support Excel5.0/95 format. So when you save a file as Excel 97- Excel 2003 & 5.0/95 Workbook.xls dual format file, Aspose.Excel will throw an exception.

EDATE function is not Excel built-in function. It’s an addin function. So please check MS Excel help for this function. You can see the following instruction:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Add-Ins.
  2. In the Add-Ins available list, select the Analysis ToolPak box, and then click OK.
  3. If necessary, follow the instructions in the setup program.

Thanks for the response. I am not sure what happened, but it’s working now.
The addin is obviously enabled, because it was working when the file was saved as one type.

Anyways, I have a file now saved with the right Type (non-dual type).
Aspose reads it and manipulates it, saves it, and the edate function is working.
Not sure what went wrong there for a while, but if I find out, I’ll re-post.

thanks
