Email attachment name characters missing when dragged in from Outlook

Hello,


I’m using Aspose.Network to load an email from a drag and drop operation. I’m using Apose.Words drag and drop functionality (Aspose.Windows.Forms.FileDragEventArgs).

The steps are:
1. An email attachment (not the full email) is dragged onto a Windows Form from Outlook
2. The attachment file name is retrieved from the FileDragEventArgs:
dragdropArgs.Files[stepIndex].FileName
3. The first 4 characters are always stripped out from the FileName

This happens only with Outlook 2007 and 2010, it works correctly with Outlook 2003.

I’m using Aspose.Network 2011.01.27 and Aspose.Words 2011.02.05.

Is this an Aspose.Network or Aspose.Words issue?

Thank you for inquiry.

I have reproduced this issue at my end with Outlook 2010. It randomly misses first 3 or 4 characters from the embedded MSG. I have logged this bug (ID: 28458) in our system. We will look into it and will inform you when it gets fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience.
