Hi,
I am a new user with Aspose and I am having a number of problems. I have multiple reports which I am moving from a SSRS 2005 environment to a SSRS2008 environment. Today I have encountered 3 different issues all of which only happen when rendering as Excel2007 xlsx.
Firstly cells formatted for currency are outputting not as £200.50, but '£'200.50 the format code - '£'0.00;('£'0.00) in reporting services works perfectly in native Excel.
Secondly I have series of tables on above another displaying the same data for different weeks, they are all the same size all have the same column widths. Excel2007 xlsx it doubles the width of the column in the table above it. So the data column in the bottom table is 5cm, the one above is 10cm, and the one above that is 20cm and so on. Again renders perfectly in Native Excel.
Thirdly, I have Page Headers which I want to go into the header section in Excel these do not go in despite changing the reportserver.config file to include:
<Configuration>
<DeviceInfo>
<SimplePageHeaders>True</SimplePageHeaders>
</DeviceInfo>
</Configuration>
Under the extension settings.
And finally with multiple reports I am getting odd extra rows and even occasionaly extra sheets in between breaks.
To be honest this has been very annoying.
Regards
Geoff.
Hi,
Could you try our latest fix / version: Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services (SSRS2008).
Please copy Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.dll into following folder :
${SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services}\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin.
If you still find the issue, kindly attach your sample RDL file, Excel renderings etc. here, we will check your issue soon.
Thank you.
Hi Amjad,
This solves the both the currency issue and the header issue but then breaks Worksheet naming. In the couple of files I have tested they both have document maps - which break on the first sheet - and second sheet name becomes the file name, with subsequent worksheets being Sheet1, sheet2, etc.
Regards
Geoff.
Hi,
Good to know that new fix sorted out your issue a bit.
For your mentioned issue
on worksheets' naming, could you attach your sample RDL file, Excel renderings etc.
here, we will check your issue soon.
Thank you.
Hi Amjad,
Sorry it appears I was mistaken about the headers outputting correctly. Copy of files as requested.
Regards
Geoff.
Hi,
Thanks for providing us the sample RDL file and Excel template files.
I have logged a ticket with an id “SSRS-40109” for your issue. We will look into and investigate the issue to figure it out soon. Once we have any update on it, we will let you know here.
Thank you.
Hi,
We have found the issue(s) and fixed them.
Please try the fixed version (attached): Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services (SSRS2008).
Please copy Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.dll into following folder : ${SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services}\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin.
And, update the Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.xml
……
False
……
You may change the device info parameter for a report in the Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.xml file. You may add a specific performance parameters a specific report in the Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.xml.
Please let us know the run result.
Thank you.
Amjad,
I have tried your solution and it makes no difference whatsoever. Still the headers are visible and still the worksheet tabs are named Sheet2, Sheet3 etc.
The main reason we purchased your product was to be able to output our exisiting reports to Excel 2007 with a minimum of fuss.
Additionally i need this to be the default behaviour, I cannot go in to the xml file and set this up for each of hundreds of reports it's just not practical. I would ask if you cannot resolve this issue by 07/06/2013, that we be refunded the cost of your software and we will go with one of your competitors, who though more expensive, would undoubtedly work out of the box.
Regards
Geoff.
Hi,
We are sorry for your inconvenience caused!
Well, our concerned developer is already working over the issue and we will try to figure it out at earliest. I have logged your comments against your issue id “SSRS-40109” into our database. Once we figure it out or we have some update on it, we will update you here immediately.
Thank you.
Hi,
About worksheet tabs are named sheet1, sheet2 etc.:
Aspose.Cells for reporting services for SQL 2008 Reporting Services does not support grouping names because SQL 2008 Reporting Services does not give the information.
We have checked your provided report define file and we think that your environment is SSRS2008 R2. So, please try the fixed version (V1.9.0.29) for SSRS 2008 R2 (attached).
Please copy Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.dll into following folder : ${SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services}\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin.
Here is the default setting for performance:
-
First, Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services default setting is set to auto-fit row.
-
Second, Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services loads Aspose.Cells.ReportingService.xml file. Aspose.Cells.ReportingServcice.xml default setting is not auto-fit row.
If you have lots of rows in the report, auto-fit row can improve the speed for exporting reports.
The default setting about exported report (reference to native Excel):
-
output report header in worksheet.
-
output report footer in the page footer.
so, the report header is visible at default setting condition.
If you want header should be hidden ( report header in page header), you must update device info in rsreportserver.config file or Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.xml.
The SimplePageHeaders value in rsreportserver.config file effects all the reports. The SimplePageHeaders value in Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.xml file effects a few specified report.
Please tell us your requirement about the default settings.
If you still face the issue, please let us know. We will continue to fix until we solve your issues.
Thank you.
Hi,
Please ignore my previously attached fix:
v1.9.0.29 as there is an internal issue in it. We are working over it and will provide you the new fix tomorrow hopefully.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused!
Hi ,
We have updated the fixed version. Please try the fixed version (v1.9.0.30) for SSRS2008R2.
Please copy Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.dll into following folder :
${SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services}\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin.
If you need to hide report header, please update rsreportserver.config file or Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.xml.
If you still face any question, please tell us. We will solve it ASAP.
Thank you this seems to have resolved the issue. I have tested it over a few reports and it seems consistent.
I am glad this is resolved, but I can't help but feel that this either should not have happened in the first place or been resolved quickly. Submitting 'Fixes' which subsequently do not solve the problem only undermines our confidence in your product. When I have looked at other posts on your forum this seems to be your standard approach.
Even if you simply post these test files, for the user to test to see if it resolves the issue the perception of your service would improve greatly. Then when you have an accepted fix, from the customer. Then you can display it as such.
Regards
Geoff.
The issues you have found earlier (filed as SSRS-40109) have been fixed in this update.
