Exported PPT in PowerPoint 2013 is not working

Hi,

In our company we have old application written in (old) ASP. Unfortunately it’s still used. We provide “export to PPT” functionality.

We discovered that our PPT can’t be read by PowerPoint 2013

They works perfectly in PowerPoint 2010 and previous but PP 2013 say that file is corrupted and is unable to repair

We have Aspose.Slides.dll in version 2.5.16.

Hi,

Thank you for the details.

Well, as you are using a very old version of Aspose.Slides for .NET, we would suggest you to download and try the latest version from here. If the issue still persists with the latest version, please share some sample code and your generated PPT file with us for further testing.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Thank you for response.

Since you suggest to upgrade so much versions, we have few additional questions:
  • is it possible to check if there was very significant changes within the Aspose.Slides API?
    • we wish to estimate, how much effort we will need to implement new version of your component - will it be needed to rewrite part of our code?
    • is it possible to download not the latest, but higher version than ours where API is quite similar?
  • what about license? Do we need to buy license for newest version of Aspose.Slides?

Hi,

Following are the replies to your queries.

is it possible to check if there was very significant changes within the Aspose.Slides API? we wish to estimate, how much effort we will need to implement new version of your component - will it be needed to rewrite part of our code?

Well, as you are using a very old version of the product, it will not be possible to list down the changes happened during this time. You will need to update your code for the changes happened in the API.

is it possible to download not the latest, but higher version than ours where API is quite similar?

As per company policy, you cannot download a product version older than a year. That means, the earliest version you can download should be released after 3rd Dec 2012. You may check the available versions here. However, as you will need to modify your code, we would suggest you to try the latest version rather than any other older version.

what about license? Do we need to buy license for newest version of Aspose.Slides?

If your license subscription is expired, you will need to purchase a new license to use the latest version. You can check your license subscription expiry by opening the license file in Notepad and check the date against tag. Also, for testing purpose, you may get a 30 days temporary license to test your application. You can get the temporary license information here.

In case you need any further assistance, please do let us know.

Thanks & Regards,
