Hi,
We use aspose.words to generate Word documents, and save that to PDF if that’s the user’s preferred option.
Our Word documents look pretty decent, but when we save to PDF using Aspose.Words, the fonts and sizes get modified a bit. Currently we can notice two major differences in the fonts.
a) Times New Roman fonts get converted to “TimeNewRomanPSMT” which looks totally different. Some people believe the two fonts are the same but in our case the latter is Sans Serif and the former is Serif.
b) The font sizes in PDF are bigger than the ones in word, but the table sizes aren’t adjusted to them. Therefore in PDF tables we have one or two character at the end of each column dropping down to the next line while in word this does not happen.
I’ve attached two sample documents, one in word and the other the conversion of that to PDF.
I tried setting font name to Time New Roman ( for the pdf ) but that did not get applied.
Cheers,
Shuku.
Hi
Thanks for your request. “TimeNewRomanPSMT” it is name of font subset. I mean that it is the same font. So I cannot reproduce the problem on my side using the latest version of Aspose.Words 9.3.0. Please see the attached screenshot; I cannot see any differences between fonts.
Best regards,
