GridDesktop: a single cell can be marked as "merged"

Hi,

I am using Aspose.Cells for GridDesktop 8.7.0.0
It’s not important and may be considered as a “freak case”, but you will judge if it is was worth to mention.
The following does not work as expected:
Select a single cell;
Right click to open the context menu;
Click on format cell and Alignment tab.
Check “Merge cells”, click OK;
reopen context menu, format cell, alignment tab;
(See that “Merge cells” is “checked”)
Select a cell next to the previous on the same row and repeat the operation;
(Result: both the cells are marked as merged, without being really merged)

In MS-Excel, the checking of “Merge cells” on a single cell does not catch

Thanks

Daniel

Hi,

Thanks for pointing out the issue.

After an initial test, I observed the issue as you mentioned. I found that a single cell can be marked as “merged” in Aspose.Cells.GridDesktop control. I used your mentioned steps to reproduce the issue in GridDesktop:
i.e.,
Select a single cell;
Right click to open the context menu;
Click on format cell and Alignment tab.
Check “Merge cells”, click OK;
reopen context menu, format cell, alignment tab;
(See that “Merge cells” is “checked”)
Select a cell next to the previous on the same row and repeat the operation;
(Result: both the cells are marked as merged, without being really merged)

I also tested the same task in MS Excel manually. But I found, in MS-Excel, the checking of “Merge cells” option on a single cell does not catch which is right. I have logged a ticket with an id “CELLSNET-44234” for your issue. We will check if we could mimic the same behavior as MS Excel.

Once we have an update on it, we will let you know here.

Thank you.
