Help me- Obi Wan Kenobe

Greetings support and MVP:

I'be been programming almost every night since 1971 and I'd like to think I'm pretty good at it. I need to substitute text on a powerpoint slide. Sounds simple, but I'm stuck!

I created a presentation, went to view->master, modified a master slide (I moved a placeholder, then copy/pasted it several times).

Left master view, then saved as a .ppt

I then executed this simple code:

Dim pres As Presentation = New Presentation(App_Path() & "/spreadsheets/presentation.ppt")

Dim slide As Slide = pres.GetSlideByPosition(1)

Dim th As TextHolder = CType(slide.Placeholders(0), TextHolder)

Dim i As Integer

i = slide.Placeholders.Count

At this point, i =0. It should be 3.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance,

i = 0 and th = null ?

Why you think there should be 3 placeholders? If you saved presentation in PowerPoint 2007 it is normal that all placeholders converted to shapes. So most probably you will find all the text in Slide.Shapes collection.

If you need more exact information please provide ppt file for investigation.
