I am currently installing Aspose.Words aspose.words.jasperreports-26.3.0-8.0.0-8.2.0.jar for JasperServer 8.2.0 to meet our specific requirements for exporting reports to Word format. While following the installation guide, I encountered an issue at Step 5C.
The step instructs me to add the following snippet to the file located at:
However, when I open the applicationContext-remote-services.xml file, I’m unable to locate where to insert this snippet. The file doesn’t seem to contain an existing <util:map id="exportParametersMap"> section or any similar structure.
I have successfully completed all the other steps in the installation process without any issues. Could anyone please assist me by clarifying:
The exact location within the applicationContext-remote-services.xml file where this snippet should be inserted.
If the file structure has changed in recent versions, could someone provide an updated guide or example?
Any additional steps that might be required to integrate this snippet properly.
Any guidance would be immensely helpful, as we are keen to evaluate Aspose.Words’ capabilities with JasperServer to ensure it meets our needs.
This seems to be working with aspose.words.jasperreports-22.7.0-7.8.0-8.0.0.jar but not with the aspose.words.jasperreports-26.3.0-8.0.0-8.2.0.jar. Hence we would need the right jar file for 8.2.0 to proceed with complete testing and purchasing a license.

We are planning to acquire licenses for JasperReports Server version 8.2.0 and above. Could you assist us in understanding the timeline for receiving the fixes and moving forward with the purchase?
I checked applicationContext-remote-services.xml in similar issue
It could be that <util:map id="exportParametersMap"> removed in new versions of xml because exportParameters is deprecated in JasperReports 7.0.0
We fixed aspose.words.jasperreports-x.x.x-8.0.0-8.2.0 to add support of JasperReports 7.0.0
And you can try to install Aspose.Words without the ExportParametersMap snippet
During the next AWJR release I will Check and Update Instalatioun instruction for JasperServer 8.2.0

We are currently using Jasperreports-server-8.2.0 and have implemented aspose.words.jasperreports-26.3.0-8.0.0-8.2.0.jar. Without the ExportParametersMap snippet, an error occurred during the export.
Could you please advise on the appropriate jar file to use for Jasperreports-server-8.2.0 or higher? Additionally, we need to complete this testing before obtaining the license.
Is there an estimated timeline for the fix related to the jar file for Jasperreports-server-8.2.0 version, so that we can plan accordingly? Additionally, the exported Word document from Aspose Words is not updating the page numbers following edits made to the document.
@rreddy3 We are going to start Aspose.Words for JasperReports 26.4 release preparations today and we will take a closer look at the issue with Jasperreports-server-8.2.0. We will keep you updated.
@rreddy3 The issue is currently in development and is still scheduled to be resolved in the upcoming 26.4 version of Aspose.Words for Jasper Reports. We will keep you updated and let you know once it is resolved and we have more information for you.
Can you check how aspose.words.jasperreports-26.4.0-8.0.0-8.2.0.jar work without the ExportParametersMap snippet and with manually added ExportParametersMap snippet?
I tested the aspose.words.jasperreports-26.4.0-8.0.0-8.2.0.jar on Jasperreports-server-8.2.0, but I encountered the same error attached, both without the ExportParametersMap snippet and after manually adding the ExportParametersMap snippet.
NOTE: Still the old aspose.words.jasperreports-22.7.0-7.8.0-8.0.0.jar works fine without the ExportParametersMap snippet on Jasperreports-server-8.2.0
If old aspose.words.jasperreports-22.7.0-7.8.0-8.0.0.jar works fine it means that:
Old version compiled with JasperServer 8.0.0 and Jasper Report 6.18.1
And you can use aspose.words.jasperreports-26.4.0-7.8.0-8.0.0.jar that compiled with JasperServer 8.0.0 and Jasper Report 6.20.5
What dependencies did you have in WEB-INF/lib ?
Started from Jasper reports 7.0.0 we see a lot of problem with compatibility between versions.
And our release process become unclear, we continued to update JasperServer but stick with Jasper Report 6.x
@anatoly.sidorenko I can attempt to use aspose.words.jasperreports-26.4.0-7.8.0-8.0.0.jar and conduct some tests. If we upgrade from Jasperreports-server-8.2.0 to a higher version, such as Jasper 10, will this same jar file function correctly and ensure that exports to docx work properly?
What dependencies should we include in WEB-INF/lib?
I will continue to work with different version of Jasper Report and Jasper Server compatablity.
but now version 7.8.0-8.0.0 is stable and work in most cases,
it depend from JasperReports 6.20.x and have native support of ‘AWExporterParameter’ that we use to config Aspose.Words for Jasper Reports
@anatoly.sidorenko We have utilized the aspose.words.jasperreports-26.4.0-7.8.0-8.0.0.jar, but it encounters the same error during the export to Word. We are uncertain about the direction we are taking, as we had anticipated that the 26.4 release versions, aspose.words.jasperreports-26.4.0-7.8.0-8.0.0.jar and aspose.words.jasperreports-26.4.0-8.0.0-8.2.0.jar, would assist our clients in resolving Word export issues from Jaspersoft.

@alexey.noskov
Is it advisable to use Aspose.words.jasperreports-22.7.0-7.8.0-8.0.0.jar with Jasper-reports-server 8.2.0 or higher while waiting for the fixes? How long do fixes for version 26.4 typically take? What should our plan be as we will also be upgrading to Jasper 10 for the majority of our clients?
@rreddy3 Unfortunately, it is hard to give any estimates at the moment. The issue was created for the development team to further investigate the problem. We will keep you updated.
