Hi Koochi,
If you want to dynamically set values for PowerPoint documents or you want to execute Mail Merge on a Word document then there are some requirements and input documents need to be formatted according to the requirement. If you want to create PDFs from templates then there is no special requirement for templates; you can consider any file as template.
In case of Image to PDF, you can consider any image as template. The only thing you need to check is if your required format is in the list of 'Valid Template Types' at http://saaspose.com/docs/display/pdf/document and if your required format is not in this list, you can report that to us and we will try to support that format as a new feature.
