How delete specific appointment from Exchange

I have found a way to retrieve a list of appointments from an Exchange server in the documentation, but need a way to retrieve and delete a specific appointment. I have found the FetchAppointment() function, but cannot find a way access the message using it other than iterating the entire list of messages.

Is there a way I can fetch a specific appointment only?

Using C# code. Thanks!

Thank you for writing to Aspose Support team.

There is no direct method to fetch a specific appointment other than listing the messages from the Calendar Uri. This is required as all the operations related to Appointments require some sort of Uninque id to fetch such items from the mailbox (be it message or appointment). But if you have the message URI pre-stored somewhere in your database, you can directly use the:

EWSClient.FetchAppointment(MessageUri)

to fetch the appointment from the mailbox. Please let us know if we can be of any additional help to you in this regard.

Thanks for the info!

I noticed that the uri is returned from CreateAppointment. Because the method I’m using to create the appointments is not currently designed to store that value, an alternative would be for me to supply the uri when the appointment is created.

I notice that I can do this (pseudocode):

Appointment app = new Appointment(…);

app.UniqueID = “{C194F8BB-6A5A-44DD-A838-218F3603A952}”; // my own custom guid

client.CreateAppointment(app);

This code runs, but when try to fetch the appointment later, I get an exception.

Is there any way to provide the uri to Exchange, or do do a lookup on a custom value that is provided? My guess is not, but I thought I would ask.

Hi Bill,

The CreateAppointment returns the appointment UID that you can use to fetch the attachment. Please have a look at the following code sample for your kind reference. It creates an appointment on the server that returns the appointment’s uid. This uid is then used to fetch the same appointment and it does return the specific appointment represented by this uid. Please try the code at your end and let us know your feedback.
