How to achieve group outline Aspose SSRS?

I have a rdl that does grouping but i am not sure if we can show the grouping outline when rendered to excel.

Hi,

Thanks for your query.

It should work fine regarding Grouping outline (as per your RDL file) in the rendered Excel report. Could you provide us your RDL file and output Excel file (XLS/XLSX) by Aspose.Cells for RS and an output Excel file (XLS) by built-in Reporting Services renderer, we will check it soon.

Thank you.

The .rdl and excel file are attached. Desired output should be like the last excel attachment.

Hi,

Thanks for providing us sample files.

We observed you need to apply grouping rows in the worksheet of the generated Excel file. I have logged a ticket with an id “SSRS-40231” for your issue. We will check if you need to update your RDL file a bit or add some other configurations to accomplish your task (if possible).

Once we have an update on it, we will let you know here.

Thank you.

Any updates on this one?

Hi,

I am afraid, there is no update on your issue (logged earlier as “SSRS-40231”) yet. However, I have logged your concerns against your issue into our database. Hopefully the concerned developer from product team will evaluate your issue soon.

Hi,

Thanks for considering Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services.

We have checked your provided report definition file.

At the moment, Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services Report Designer does not support this feature.

We will spend one or two weeks on a fixed version for supporting group outline for table report item (will only support SSRS2008 version or later).

Hi,

We have
added your requested feature for group outline. Please try our latest fixed version (attached): Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services (SSRS2008R2) V2.4.0.4.

Please copy Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.dll into following folder : ${SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services}\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin.

Please let us know your run result. And, we will continue to work on it to make the feature perfect.

Thank you.

Thanks for the help! It works however we need small change here. When the report is first rendered in excel, can we keep the outline expanded (show) instead of hide.

Or probably add a feature client side to set the default behavior(show/hide outline) to begin with.

Hi,

Good to know that the new feature (group outline) is working now. For your recent demand, we will check if this can be done using some configurations or we could enhance the supported feature for your needs. I have logged your concerns/comments against your issue “SSRS-40231” into our database. Our concerned developer from product team will evaluate it soon.

Once we have an update on it,we will let you know here.

Thank you.

We have added, configure UI for group outline.
