How to convert xls or xlsx to Tagged PDF

We have an application which creates the PDF documents with the aspose.cells API. First it creates a XLS document from a predefined template which is also a xls template and then it converts this xls/xlxs document to PDF. The generated documents are not complaint with the Assistive Technology rules. When you run the Accessibility Checker from the Adobe Acrobat software on the PDFs that we generated with the application, it is giving below mentioned non-complaint issues.

Rule Name Status Description
Accessibility permission flag Passed Accessibility permission flag must be set
Image-only PDF Passed Document is not image-only PDF
Tagged PDF Failed Document is tagged PDF
Logical Reading Order Needs manual check Document structure provides a logical reading order
Primary language Failed Text language is specified
Title Failed Document title is showing in title bar
Bookmarks Passed

Bookmarks are present in large documen

We need to resolve the above failed issues inorder to make the PDF accessible. Could you please let us know if there is any API or tool that can solve these kind of issues and make it accessible PDF. We found that Acrobat Pro solves these problem by manually. But, since we are generating the PDF files through Aspose.cells, we want to add the fixes to these issues through code only. So that we do not need run the tool manually to solves these issue every time we generate the PDF files with our application. Please let us know if there is solution for this.

I have posted this query in the Aspose.cells forum, but they suggested me to post it in this forum.

Hi Sudhakar,

Thanks for using our products.

We have a component named Aspose.Pdf for .NET which provides the capability to create and manipulate existing PDF files. Furthermore, in upcoming release version of Aspose.Pdf for .NET 8.1.0, we have introduced the feature to convert normal PDF document to Indexed (searchable) PDF file. The feature is logged in our issue tracking system as PDFNEWNET-29755. Currently we are busy testing the new release and as soon as it becomes available, we would be more than happy to update you with the status of correction.

Please be patient and spare us little time. We are sorry for your inconvenience.

The issues you have found earlier (filed as PDFNEWNET-29755) have been fixed in Aspose.Pdf for .NET 8.1.0.
