HTML - Map CSS Class to Word Style - Bullet and Number Lists

We are using word .net component. We are writing HTML into an existing document and mapping HTML to styles that already exist in the word document. This works for paragraphs though when we try to do the same for a bulleted list or numbered list (UL, OL, LI), the styles do not format the end result word doc. Is this s bug or not supported for some reason?

We have spent a ton of time trying to resolve this and tried several approaches mentioned in forums with no luck. An option is not have lists but rather work with html paragraph element and build styles in word that are not based on list but rather normal text and stylize to look like a list. This is not a great idea as the result isn't a real list.

It seems like there is little in terms of documentation on loading/working with HTML. The documentation at http://www.aspose.com/docs/display/wordsjava/Numbering+Features+Supported+on+HTML+Import seems detailed though missing the hows tos. For instance, it mentions "Starting Value" is supported though how in the html should it be used? This is just one question among many that leave the developers left to guess.

Thanks,

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your inquiry. Please note that Aspose.Words tries to mimic the same behavior as MS Word do. Upon processing HTML, some features of HTML might be lost. Please read following documentation link for your kind reference. (Style Features Supported on HTML Export/Import)

I have linked this forum thread to the appropriate feature request (WORDSNET-1203). You will be notified via this forum thread once this feature is available.

We apologize for your inconvenience.

The issues you have found earlier (filed as WORDSNET-1203) have been fixed in this .NET update and this Java update.
