Impact on fonts when using Aspose in Linux env

We are using Aspose to create word documents and then turn them into PDFs sometimes. Since we installed our application (along with a word template with content controls) in Linux environment we don’t have access to Windows fonts. if we copied Windows fonts to the Linux server its illegal (I think).

1 - can we copy Windows fonts to Linux server?

2 - can we license Windows fonts from some foundry? if so, any names for me?

3 - anyone with similar situation that has solved this?

Hi Srikanth,

Thanks
for your inquiry. Your queries do not seem to be related
to Aspose.Words. Please find appropriate forum on web and post your
query. Or you can search font’s license information on Google. If we can help
you with anything else, please feel free to ask.

Tahir,

I am looking to see if anyone is in the same boat with Linux environment and lack of fonts when using Aspose to work with MS word documents. Its certainly belongs on your forum, but not sure where. Telling your OEM customer to go google is not a good response.

Hi Srikanth,

Thanks for your inquiry.

Please read following web links about font redistribution. Hope this helps you.

Please feel free to ask if you have any question about Aspose.Words, we will be happy to help you.

Hi Srikanth,

we were facing similar challenges and came to the solution to use the msttcorefonts package on our unix systems.

You might want to google for that term to get the correct solution for your specific distribution.

e.g.: http://corefonts.sourceforge.net/

Kind regards

Wolfgang
