Is there any plan to remove ICE_JNIRegistry.dll dependency?

Hi,

I heard from my colleagues that Aspose will be eliminating dependency of ICE_JNIRegistry.dll in future.

- Is this true ?

- If yes, any tentative time-line known at present ?

- Does this mean Aspose Diagrams is not supported on non-Windows OS at present ?

Thanks,
Rajiv

Hi Rajiv,

Thank you for contacting support. Yes, it is true. We have plans to remove this binary in some future release. In this regard, we have logged a task under ticket id DIAGRAMJAVA-50046 in our issue tracking system. We’ll notify you know once it is done. Currently, there is no timeline available at present.

Well, we use JNI to load this assembly for loading font information only in windows system. However, it does not mean that Aspose.Diagram for Java API only supports Windows operating systems.

Please feel free to reply us in case of any confusion or questions.

Thanks Imran,

Am just curious … are fonts related info not important / relevant for non-windows OS ? I mean what is its substitute there ?

Can you confirm that the PDF output of any particular input file on windows and non-windows will match with each other without this library ?

Regards,
Rajiv
