Losing Metadata on SharePoint when Word doc converting to PDF

We are using Aspose.Words for .NET on our SharePoint website to convert Word files to PDF on our public website. The Word files are tagged with metadata so they will display in the correct area of the website. We have found that some metadata gets lost during the converstion process to PDF. There is no consistency as to when the metadata gets stripped.
Is this a known problem and if so, is there a fix?

Any update on this? Thanks David

Hi David,

Thanks for your request and sorry for delayed reply. In SharePoint there are two kinds of MS Word document’s properties: Custom/BuiltIn properties of document, which are stored in the document and SharePoint properties, which are stored outside the document. Could you please specify what document properties are lost? We will check the issue and try to provide you with suitable solution.
Best regards.

We are losing properties that are stored inside the document properties.
Hope this helps.
Thanks - David

Hi David,

Thank you for additional information. Does it mean that properties stored inside document are lost? During converting Word document to PDF, properties like Title, Author, Subject should be preserved, but if your document contains custom properties, these properties might be lost because there is no way to store custom document properties in PDF.
Would you please attach your sample document here for testing and specify names of properties, which are lost? I will check the issue and provide you more information.
Best regards.

Alexey,
Our SharePoint vendor resolved the issues. Thanks for your help.
