Mail Merge Headers and Footers


We are using Aspose Words 14.3 version to perform mail merge in Word. For this scenario we prepared separate templates (.dotx files) ) for headers and footers that we reference in the main template using INCLUDETEXT.

Each header and footer template contains textboxes(textareas) in which we inserted merge fields one by one.

In Word 2010, when we create a document based on that template it replaces the merge fields correctly.

In Word 2013, the same scenario does not replace merge fields unless they are placed outside the textbox/textarea.

This was also happening for older versions of Aspose.Words. Do you know since what version this feature has started working?

Or do you know if it is a known issue for Word 2013 ?

  1. Your main template document which uses INCLUDETEXT field to reference other documents inside.
  2. Your template Word documents you’re getting problems with and which are created with Microsoft Word 2013.
  3. Your template Word documents which are created with Microsoft Word 2010.
  4. Please create a standalone runnable simple console application that helps us reproduce your problem on our end and attach it here for testing.
