Mergefield and if fields

Hello,

We are currently evaluating aspose words and aspose editor to be used, respectively, to merge template on the server and to edit the merged template on the client side

What we wanted to do with the template to be merged is something like this:

{IF { MERGEFIELD F39 } = 2 "text 1" "text 2 { IF "{MERGEFIELD F101}" = "F" "e" ""} trail."}

If I do understand your FAQ, aspose will not process the result of the IF field.
We wonder if you have planned to support it in Aspose Words in a near future.

Thanks for your request. Unfortunately, Aspose.Words still does not support evaluation of IF fields conditions. We are going to support IF evaluation somewhere in this year, unfortunately, I cannot give you any reliable estimate at the moment. I will notify you as soon as this feature is available.

For now we will do without the IF fields, and we’ll move it back to the template when its implemented in aspose

The issues you have found earlier (filed as 37) have been fixed in this update.
