TnefLoadOptions.PreserveEmbeddedMessageFormat = True is not honored

Sample project:
WindowsApplication22.zip (3.9 MB)

Bug 1: MsgLoadOptions.PreserveEmbeddedMessageFormat = True is NOT honored, attached .msg file is always converted to .eml, regardless of those settings!

Bug 2: The output Tnef file will not have the message attachment’s extension.

I can reproduce it easily!
Please kindly run this sample:
WindowsApplication23.zip (3.9 MB)

You’ll get it in no time! Notice the message box alerts.

msg.msg has an attachment named “Get started with Microsoft Teams” in msg format.

After converting to TNEF, I use MailMessage to load it, now that attachment is in eml format.
No matter what you set for MsgLoadOptions/TnefLoadOptions PreserveEmbeddedMessageFormat
