Negative number formatting is not working

Hi Aspose team,

I am using Aspose Slides for Java 8.6.0.

I am trying to force negative formatting on positive numbers by keeping the custom number format as “($#,##0)”.

series.getValues().get_Item(0).setCustomNumberFormat("$#,##0");
series.getValues().get_Item(1).setCustomNumberFormat("($#,##0)");
series.getValues().get_Item(2).setCustomNumberFormat("($#,##0)");

Kindly see the attached code, expected and actual PPT’s.

As soon as I open the generated PPT, I am not seeing brackets around the number for 2nd and 3rd categories, where as if I click on “Edit Data” once and close the excel, I am able to see the brackets around the numbers in the chart. It is not a very good user experience to do “Edit data” to see the required formatting.

Could you please tell me why this is happening and do I need to populate any more properties.

Thanks,
Sravanthi
