Not able to Rename FieldNames using FormEditor class

Hi,

I am not able to rename the field names. I have tried following approach

using the both the above approaches i am able to generate the required pdf (sample_output.pdf) but it still retains the old fieldnames.

Let me know is there any other way to rename the fieldnames or is it a limitation in ASPOSE.

First of all, let me inform you that Aspose.Pdf for .NET and Aspose.Pdf.Kit for .NET have been merged into a single product and Aspose.Pdf.Kit for .NET has been discontinued as a separate product. All the features of Aspose.Pdf.Kit for .NET are available under Aspose.Pdf.Facades namespace of Aspose.Pdf for .NET v6.x. You can check the following documentation links to upgrade your code from Aspose.Pdf.Kit for .NET to the new merged Aspose.Pdf for .NET.

Thanks for your reply even i tried renaming field with the template provided by you and i was able to do it successfully.

But we have a template which has "Reader Extensions Enabled" so with this we will be able to save the data after editing it. So once i tried to rename a field in such a template the new pdf gets generated but when i try to open it throws an error saying that "This document enabled extended features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available. Please contact Author"and after that i am not able to edit and save data.

Thanks for your quick response. Please find the attached sample template ( though when i exported to xml i got only 4 fields) i have renamed one of the field. Please find the updated xml (TRADE CERTIFICATE is renamed to TRADE CERTIFICATE_NEW).

I am able to rename the field but when i open the updated pdf (interactiveform_enabled_updated.pdf)it gives me the error mentioned in previous post and after that i am NOT able to EDIT or SAVE data.

Let me know does ASPOSE doesn't support renaming of fields for interactive pdf's.

Thanks for sharing the template documents with us. I tested the scenario and unable to find any issue in renaming the field (TRADE CERTIFICATE is renamed to TRADE CERTIFICATE_NEW). However, I tried to fill the resultant PDF document form using Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended version 9.5 and I was not able to face any issue. Resultant PDF is attached for your reference.

Moreover, I tried to Export the resultant PDF document in XML format and able to get all the fields. Resultant XML file is attached for your reference. This may happened because of evaluation version you are using. You may get a 30 days temporary license to evaluate your required features of Aspose.Pdf. Please use the below link to acquire a temporary license (choose “Get a Temporary License” option).

Hi Rashid,

Thanks for looking in to issue. But the pdf (output)template which you have shared with us i am still not able to edit, it gives me the same error. Are you able to edit that pdf after generating it.

Note : I am using Adobe Reader to edit the data, because with the same reader i was able to edit and save before modifying the fieldnames.
