ODF and ODT version

Hi,

According to your documentation Aspose.Words saves .odt documents using the OASIS ODF 1.1 standard.

I was wondering when you were considering updating to saving at ODF 1.2?
The reason I ask is due to the UK government announcing this week, that going forward that all editable documents; text, spreadsheet and presentations must be in the ODF 1.2 standard.

I’m sure this will be required by many of your customers, not just us.

Not sure if I should post this in every forum, or could this message be passed on to all aspose teams?

Thanks
Toby

Hi Toby,

Thanks for your request. We are in communication with our development team and will get back to you soon.

Best regards,

Hi Toby,

Thanks for being patient. Aspose.Words supports ODT 1.2 standard. Please see the following description of OdtSaveOptions.IsStrictSchema11 property:

Specifies whether export should correspond to ODT specification 1.1 strictly. OOo 3.0 displays files correctly when they contain elements and attributes of ODT 1.2. Use “false” for this purpose, or “true” for strict conformity of specification 1.1. The default value is false.

So, Aspose.Words writes as ODF 1.2 when OdtSaveOptions.IsStrictSchema11 is set to false which is the default value.

Best regards,
