Password to open document

I would like to confirm that at this point in time with version 8.1 there is no way to set the password of a document like Microsoft Word does using the Tools->Options...->Security "Password to Open:"

If there is, please provide a sample of c# code.

If not, is there any time frame as to when this will become available?

Hi

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Thanks for your request. What you are talking about is document encryption. Aspose.Words at the moment cannot encrypt documents, it can only apply document protection and set password to modify.

Aspose.Words, however, supports loading encrypted documents. Most likely, encryption of DOCX documents will be supported in the next version of Aspose.Words, which will be release in few weeks.

Best regards.

The issues you have found earlier (filed as WORDSNET-1724) have been fixed in this .NET update and this Java update.
