PDF Compression Options

Right now we are converting documents, (powerpoint, excel, word, etc) into PDF documents using Aspose. Once we have the PDF file, we would like to compress any non text objects for displaying on a mobile device. We are currently using the OptimizeResources option, but not seeing much of a reduction in size of the resultant file (e.g. 93,486kb vs 93,481kb).

Using Adobe Acrobat, we can use the “Compress for Mobile” option to take one of the pages from this pdf from 1.6MB to 357kb.

Is there similar functionality available in Aspose? Is there a way to go through the document and compress any images inside?

Anyone have any insight here?

Hi Mozart,

Thanks for contacting support and sorry for the delayed response.

OptimizeResources(…) is the method which provides the feature to compress the size of PDF file by eliminating duplicate contents. However if are not observing any significant reduction in document size, can you please share some sample document so that we can test the scenario at our end. We are sorry for this inconvenience.
