PDF created using Aspose.word is unsupported in photoshop

Dear Team,

We have testing the Aspose product recently. We have found a new issue in the Doc to PDF conversion. That is, converted PDF in not opening in Adobe Photoshop CC 2017. Adobe Photoshop shows error as “unsupported color space”.

Please let us know, is this a bug in Aspose OR there any way to avoid this error.

regards,
Abdul Ali

Hi Abdul,

Thanks for your inquiry. We have converted a DOC to PDF using Aspose.Words for Java 17.4 and are unable to notice any issue when opening resultant PDF with Adobe Photoshop CC.

We will appreciate it if you please share your input and output documents here along with sample code, so we will further look into the issue and will guide you accordingly.

Best Regards,

Thanks for the reply.

I have attached the converted PDF along with source (word) document. Use the PDF or convert the word document to PDF from your side and check by opening the PDF file in the Adobe Photoshop CC where you can see the issue.

Regards,
Abdul Ali

Hi Abdul,

Thanks for your patience. We have tested the scenario with your shared document and noticed the reported exception in Adobe Photoshop CC. We have logged a ticket WORDSJAVA-1524 in our issue tracking system for further investigation and rectification. We will notify you as soon as it is resolved.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Best Regards,

@abdulali

Thanks for your patience. We have investigated the issue and found it is Adobe related issue. There is an image (image1.png) inside the word document (unsupportedColorSpace.docx). This image uses palette to store color information. It is a well-known problem that Adobe Illustrator can’t work correctly with these kind of images (adobe illustrator unsupported color space - Google Search).

If you open the word document and save image as a 32-bit image, the problem will be fixed. You may also send information about this issue to Adobe team.

Best Regards,
