PDF/UA and WCAG Compliance

We are working towards making our PDF documents PDF/UA compliant using Aspose.Pdf library.
The main hurdle we are currently having is in-ability to use Aspose.Pdf library to resolve Adobe Accessibility Check failures. We have reported one such issue for Tables about six months ago(PDFNEWNET-39226 : still unresolved). We have recently found another similar issue with Link annotations (See attached SampleDoc.pdf that exhibits both of these issues and screenshot from Adobe Accessibility Check failure.).

What Aspose.Pdf really needs is to allow low level API functions to update alternate text/tagged content on various PDF entities. This will allow user of Aspose.Pdf library to resolve the compliance issues as per their needs. This is becoming a requirement for most document generating software as more and more government agencies are now moving towards WCAG compliance. Does Aspose.Pdf have plans towards providing these features?

Thanks.

Hi Samir,

Thanks for your inquiry. Please note the subjected issue (PDFNEWNET-39226) was related to our another product Aspose.Words and it was decided to fix in Aspose.Words so closed.

Furthermore in reference to your requirement to create PDF/UA compliant PDF document, we have already logged another issue PDFNEWNET-34010 for the feature. We have recorded your concern and asked our product team to share the plan. We will update you as soon as we get a feedback.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Best Regards,

The last post for this thread was over a year ago, has anything been done on PDFNEWNET-39226? We are also looking for PDF/UA compliance.

Thanks.

@sherter,

Thanks for your patience.

We have further investigated earlier reported PDFNET-39226 and I am afraid we may not be able to fix this problem. As shared above by Tilal in this post, the problem needs to be fixed in Aspose.Words for .NET.

Now concerning to other requirement related to support of PDF/UA format, I am afraid it is not yet implemented. However as soon as we have some definite updates regarding its resolution, we will let you know. Please be patient and spare us little time. We are sorry for this inconvenience.
