PDFs Converted to Word Lock Up when Opened

I have tried to convert some documents from PDF into Word but when we try and open the Word document, it locks up Word 2003 and Word 2007, but opens fine on Word 2010. Is there anything we can do about this? Have you seen this problem before?

Submitted from: https://apps.saaspose.com/App

This is the file which when converted to .doc, causes word 2003 and 2007 to crash.

This file also has a problem being opened with word 2007.

Hi Paul,

Sorry, I was unable to reproduce this issue at my end. I get the attached output when convert PDF to DOC and do not see any problem in opening/editing output DOC with MS Word 2007.

Can you please try opening the attached DOC at your end and share if this document also crashes at your end? If not, please share your output DOC file and complete code for reference. Sorry for the inconvenience.

P.S. you can use Saaspose.Pdf API to convert PDF to DOC and use Saaspose.Words API to convert DOC to DOCX if you want to convert PDF to DOCX.

Best Regards,
Muhammad Ijaz

Muhammad,
The file you've sent me is much smaller than the file I get when i use the convert api command to put the file and return the data.
When I try, it ends up being 1.6MB.
I have attached it.
Thanks.

Hi,
We have looked at the files closer and it appears to lock up Word when we select the images within the converted file.
If there was a way of removing the image during conversion, that would really help us.
Thanks.

Muhammad,

I’ve retested the PDF to Word conversion with the pdf’s we know failed to open and they appear to be more successful when opening in Word 2003 and 2007 now.

Thank you for sorting this issue for me.

Regards,

Paul Kissick
