Hello,
I am using the Aspose.Excel component to read Excel files of a size up to 3 MB into a dataset in ASP.Net. The execution of this "import" runs very smoothly on the development machine (P4 3 Ghz, Windows XP) but when importing big excel files on the production server (2x Xeon 3 Ghz 4 GB RAM, Windows 2003 Server, no other tasks running) it runs much slower. When importing a 2 MB file into a dataset users get timeouts (setting is still at the 90 seconds timeout) Both Systems have only the .Net Framework 1.1 installed
Can you please help me ?

Andrea Ravasi
Hi Andrea,
You can try to write a simple console application to see the differences between your dev machine and your production machine. I doubt it's a problem of IIS configuration.
Hello Laurence,
do you mean I should write some application that does not use apose.excel and run it under both environments to see if there is any difference? Or do you mean I should write a single application using Aspose.Excel to see if it also executes differently?
Are there some settings (in IIS or in .Net) I need to do on the server to make Aspose.Excel for .Net run smoothly?
Regards,
Andrea
Hi Andrea,
I mean you can write a single console application using Aspose.Excel to see if it also executes differently.
No special setting is need. Default setting is fine. What's your environment, OS, .NET and IIS?
Have you done any special settings?
Hello Laurence,
actually I was looking in the wrong direction - it seems to be a problem not related to the different machines, as I could reproduce it on my local machine also. My first tests were misleading. Thanks anyway.

Andrea
Hi Andrea,
Could you please post your template file and sample code here? And which version of Aspose.Excel are you using?
