Printing Develpment Status

Two Quick Questions:

  1. As of this fall, Printing in Aspose.Words was still in Beta. Is it currently still considered Beta?
  2. Is it “Safe” to use Printing when Aspose.Words is being
implemented in a web application? There are over 1,000 frequent
users. Are there concurrency issues (if multiple users tried
printing at the same time) or concerns about the printer dialog box pop
ups, or any other issues I should be aware of?

  1. Yes, Aspose.Word.Viewer currently included into the product is still beta. We expect to complete our working on it in April 2006.
  2. The viewer just renders a document onto Graphics or Bitmap objects. Printing is implemented using standard .NET classes such as PrintDocument and PrinterSettings. Please refer to the MSDN documentation to ensure if some concurrency issues are possible.

We are happy to tell you that the new Rendering Engine has replaced the “old Viewer Beta”. The Rendering Engine can print, save as images or draw onto .NET Graphics object any document page.

Please see Aspose.Words documentation to learn more about new features.

In additional, new Rendering engine allows you to convert Word document to PDF directly (without using Aspose.Pdf).
