Well, we did provide you the fix/version for your logged issues “CELLSJAVA-40665” and “CELLSJAVA-40659” regarding YIELD function here:

You can also use our latest version v7.7.2 which does include these fixes.

Moreover, we cannot provide any fixes or add enhancements to any older version if you are using as the fixes/enhancements are only based on the latest version of the product.

Hi,

I am not sure about your query.

If you are using specified fonts in the workbook, you got to put the font files into the directory (e.g Fonts) for rendering to PDF and specify the directory path before using any other APIs in the Aspose.Cells for Java. You may use CellsHelper.setFontDir() static method for your needs. If you need to update the font attributes (e.g font name, size, color etc.), you may use Aspose.Cells APIs via getStyle()/ setStyle() approach to format the cells accordingly.

Am tried to use the below logics to change the font but not reflected properly.
Logic 1) System.setProperty(“Aspose.Cells.FontDirExc”, “D:\font\”);
Logic 2) CellsHelper.setFontDir(“D:\font\”);

Kindly help to send us the sample code for change the Font.

Hi,

Well, for the statement:

System.setProperty(“Aspose.Cells.FontDirExc”, “D:\font\”);

Aspose.Cells for Java will exclude all other fonts directories except “d:\fonts”, so you do not need to specify the fonts directory via CellsHelper.setFontDir() static method. Make sure this property should be called before using any reference to Aspose.Cells’ APIs.

Also, to make sure that this property is set to be used by Aspose.Cells when loading fonts, you can try to use it as JVM option when starting the java application, see the command line:

e.g

java -DAspose.Cells.FontDirExc=D:\font …

Am tried to use it as JVM option when starting the java application but still we could not change the FONT.Could you please provide the below details for more understanding and this will help for further analysis.

1) How to get a font directories from V8.1.0.2?
2) How to get a font directories from V2.4.2.4 so that we will set a same from V8.1.0.2 (since we tried to generate the PDF using Java logical font.)

I am afraid, there is no such APIs to get the fonts directories which Aspose.Cells scans when rendering to PDF. But normally Aspose.Cells scans “Windows\fonts”, “winnt\fonts” etc.

Also, we are still not sure about your requirements as per your statement(s) in one of your previous posts e.g “…could not change the FONT…”, which fonts you want to change and how do you want to change them?". For your information, if you want to change the used font in your template file, I am afraid, we cannot support such kind of requirements, you have to change the used fonts in the template file first by yourself.

And, we can only provide some means to zoom the font size for existing cells, so you may try similar approach as per the code segment and enhance it if required.

Hi,

We have “Arial” fonts in my work book but generated PDF is "ArialMT’ using the latest jar V8.1.0.2.

There is no issue when we used the jar V2.4.2.4. So we have raised a request for change the font in V8.1.0.2 through code.

We knew, V2.4.2.4 is used by Java logical font and V8.1.0.2 is Physical font.

So kindly help to resolve on this.

Hi,

Please make sure that all “Arial” fonts are present at your system, also you may specify the fonts directory using CellsHelper.setFontDir() static method at the start. Aspose.Cells would render PDF file with the same fonts present in the workbook if you have installed and specified (via CellsHelper.setFontDir() static method) the relevant fonts accordingly.

If you still feel Aspose.Cells changes the fonts in the rendered PDF even if you have installed and specified the required fonts on the system, kindly provide your template Excel file, output PDF file and some screen shots to highlight the problematic areas regarding fonts rendering comparing the original Excel file Vs output PDF file, we will check it soon.

Thanks for the template files and screen shots.

After an initial test, I observed the issue as you mentioned by converting your template file to PDF. I noticed “ArialMT” is used instead of “Arial” font while rendering to PDF file format. We need to evaluate if thoroughly if it is correct behavior or a bug. I have logged a ticket with an id “CELLSJAVA-40873” for your issue. We will look into it soon.

Once we have any update on it, we will let you know here.

We have evaluated your issue further. Well according to Pdf specification which says that a PostScript font names should be used instead. ‘ArialMT’ is just a PostScript name of the corresponding Arial font and nothing else. Please see a similar discussion in the thread here:

Well, the two issues Aspose.Pdf team fixed do not have any links to your issue, see the details as following:

1) PDFNEWJAVA-33828 - Incorrect font name is being returned in the PDF file i.e. Arial instead of ArialMT

2) PDFNEWJAVA-33798 - Aspose.Pdf for Java currently does not support an overload of TextFragmentAbsorber(…) which can accept TextEditOptions as argument, they logged a ticket for it…
