Pst corrupt - handling - System.OverflowException: Arithmetic

I’m attempting to open and work with a pst file that requires a password.

How do I handle this with Aspose.Network.Outlook.Pst ?

Currently getting exception:

System.OverflowException: Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow

when attempting to extract messages

starting here, how do I at least check to see if a password is required?

pst = Aspose.Network.Outlook.Pst.PersonalStorage.FromFile(thisPSTfile);

Hi,

Thank you for inquiry.

The password for PST file is required for opening it in MS Outlook only (UI layer). It is not used to encrypt the PST contents. Using Aspose.Network, same method is used to open password protected and without password PST files.

The exception thrown must be due to another reason. Could you please first try the latest release of Aspose.Network and see if it resolves the issue? If you still see any problem, we will require the sample PST to read it at our end in order to reproduce and fix the issue. To send the file to us, please

I have downloaded and test using the most recent version. The exception is still thrown. I have sent an example pst file. Thanks for your help.

The attached PST file is corrupt/damaged. Please use overloaded method which will try to read messages even if PST is corrupt.

6.8.0 allowed me to open the corrupt pst file, and extract a good portion of it’s contents.

New problem with 6.8

Getting an “Object reference not set to an instance of an object.” exception error when first attempting GetContents with () or (false), and then following it with a GetContents(true)

but

but, if I call with (true) the first time, it works well to attempt to extract the content.

to duplicate, use the provided example pst file and attempt to get the contents of the deleted folder with :
try { messageInfoCollection = thisfolderInfo.GetContents(false); } catch (Exception Ex) { // “The file appears to be corrupted.” exception here try { LogThisException(Ex); messageInfoCollection = thisfolderInfo.GetContents(true); } catch (Exception Ex2) { // object not set exception here } }

I have downloaded the fix, but find that my .Network license does not work. So, I’ve attempted to re-download my license code, but even though it says .Email, it only downloads the .Network license.

Now I have two active projects that I’m no longer able to publish. Help please! :-)

This problem was resolved in the latest build of the .Email product.
