Question: Aspose.pdf

I am looking at different third party products to aid in a .net development
project. I was looking at the aspose.pdf and it was not clear if it was
capable of the following items.

1.) Combined multiple PDF files on a web server
2.) Print multiple pdf files to the default print of the browser
3.) Download multiple files from the web server to the client

Basically, we are developing a web site to generate that will serve
previously generated PDF files.

Also what is the pricing of the product.

Thank you,
Karl

Dear Karl,

Thanks for your consideration.

1.) Combined multiple PDF files on a web server

No but it is under to do list.

2.) Print multiple pdf files to the default print of the browser

Yes.

3.) Download multiple files from the web server to the client

Yes.

Basically, we are developing a web site to generate that will serve previously generated PDF files.

Yes.

Also what is the pricing of the product.

Please check Pricing.

You’re encouraged to post here further.

Okay,

I have downloaded a trial version of the product and I am going to try point 2 and 3. I am using VS.Net in C#. Do you have sample code to print and download multiple PDF files.

Thank you in advance

Sorry,

Maybe I haven’t exactly got what you want. Please elaborate it.

1.) Print five different PDF files on a web server to the client browser’s printer

2.) Download five different pdf files to the local hard drive

Doing this for one file is straight forward

Is this possible with aspose

Dear sideslive,

Thanks for your consideration.

In fact, Aspose.Pdf can help you generate pdf files and save them into standard streams. You can use these streams to do whatever you can do.

Okay, This is promising.

I have tried the .net system stream object library. Taking 2 PDF files and streaming them one after the other. This did not work due to how the internal layout of the PDF file. Please send me a C# or even VB example of this working with Aspose

Dear sideslive,

Thanks for your consideration.

Do you mean you want to print 2 PDF streams into one web browser’s window? Would you please post your code here or email it to me?

What I am trying to do is take 2 or more PDF files and stich them together and then print or download to local drive.

This does not work - only displays first report.
using System.IO;

public void concatPDF()
{
StreamReader sr = File.OpenText(“C:/Report.pdf”);
string input = null;
input = sr.ReadToEnd();

sr.Close();
input += " /n ";
StreamReader sr1 = File.OpenText(“C:/Report1.pdf”);
input += sr1.ReadToEnd();
sr1.Close();
FileInfo f = new FileInfo(“C:/MyPdf.pdf”);
StreamWriter writer = f.CreateText();
writer.Write(input);
writer.Close();
}

Dear sideslive,

Thanks for your consideration.

In the current release, you can’t concatenate two Pdf files directly. We will add support for this feature in the next release, which will we will begin working on later this month.

Is it possible to concatenate two Pdf files in the current version?

Dear marcos_peredo,

Thanks for your consideration.

I am sorry. Due to some emergent task, the pdf editing features plan is postponed. I am now working on programmer’s guide writting. I will start to working on pdf editing features early next month. The concatenation function hopes to be available at late June.
